There’s no one cooler than José Ramírez. While Ramírez started his career as a pretty nondescript utility player, he’s since blossomed into one of the best sluggers in baseball who is a bonafide household name.
He also boasts enough swagger to fill the entire Guardians’ roster. We got another example of that on Wednesday when Ramírez played in Cleveland’s spring training game against the Rangers while wearing a belt that featured pictures of him on it.

Guardians' José Ramírez continues to be one of baseball’s coolest players
This isn’t the first time Ramírez has done something like this, as he once wore a chain with his face on it during a game in 2021.
Normally a player doing something that would come off as conceited, but Ramírez has mastered the art of being outwardly confident without making it seem like he has an incredibly inflated view of himself.
It also helps that he’s become one of baseball’s best sluggers, is widely-viewed as a mentor on the Guardians’ roster and now has taken two separate team-friendly extensions with Cleveland.
Ramírez clearly wanted to spend the rest of his career with the Guardians, but also understands that the team is operating with one of the tightest purse strings in baseball. Not every player would want to play in that kind of environment, but Ramírez has twice decided that’s what he wants.
Even though the Guardians’ front office didn’t make a ton of moves to add to the Guardians’ roster this offseason, they’re still heading into the season with a bit of buzz thanks in large part to the fact that Ramírez is on the roster.
And he added another example of why that’s the case on Wednesday by hitting a homer against the Rangers while wearing that aforementioned belt.
Ramírez has gone on the record to say that his main goal is to bring a World Series title to Cleveland, and he’ll have plenty of opportunities to try to do so thanks to his newest extension.
But even if a World Series title doesn’t come this year, we know that Ramírez is going to look cool during the season regardless of how the team does.
