There is a lot to be excited about when it comes to the Cleveland Indians in 2018, even though things didn’t go as planned in 2017.

The Cleveland Indians didn’t have a great finish to 2017, but at least it went better than the team that plays near the lake.

It is always interesting to gather with friends on New Year’s Eve and reflect on the past year, and when it comes to the Indians, there is plenty to be happy about.

I think it is fair to be both happy and frustrated with a team, even when some on Twitter declare you must either love them or hate them with no room for any feelings in between.

More from Away Back Gone

As we prepare to welcome in a New Year, tonight is a great time to leave 2017 behind and focus on 2018.

That doesn’t mean we have to forget what happened, but we can stop watching ALDS highlights wondering what could have been. Or maybe that’s just me.

The Indians aren’t likely to make any other major moves after signing Yonder Alonso, so the team will have a similar look as it did in 2017, sans Bryan Shaw and Carlos Santana.

We talked about some Indians-themed New Year’s resolutions, so maybe tonight is the night to make some bold declarations about your plans for the 2018 season.

Maybe some fans will even drink too much and put down a deposit for a full-season plan.

We will be back in 2018 (tomorrow) with more coverage of the Indians and will start the year with some fun lists and analysis as we await the melting of the evil snow.
