The Cleveland Indians had four Gold Glove Award finalists this year, but none of the four will be taking home any hardware.
Award season didn’t get off to a great start for the Cleveland Indians as four Gold Glove finalists came away empty-handed.
Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, Carlos Santana, and Yan Gomes were passed over in favor of others, which is not entirely surprising, but still a bit frustrating as a fan.

The Hosmer haters out there, and I know there are a bunch, are likely upset with him getting the award over Santana, and that is legitimate given Santana’s success at first base this season.
Regardless, there are still other awards to be won this offseason, as the Indians have finalists for AL MVP (Ramirez), AL Cy Young (Corey Kluber), and AL Manager of the Year (Terry Francona).
Ramirez winning MVP would be a surprise, but Kluber and Francona should have great shots to take home their respective awards.
The lack of any Gold Glove winners doesn’t take away from the great seasons had by Lindor, Ramirez, Santana, and Gomes.
We all know that no one should ever, for any reason whatsoever, run on Yan, while we also know that any ball put in play in the infield should result in an out.
Well, that’s true for at least for three-quarters of the infield.

The awards will continue to be passed out next week, so let’s hope our favorite players, and manager, have some better luck then.
