The Cleveland Indians have been unstoppable as of late, but winning on the road has been something they have done with ease all season.
The Cleveland Indians are back at Progressive Field on Tuesday to finish out the regular season at home after what was truly a special year on the road.
The Indians finished with a road record of 53-28, which is currently the best mark in all of baseball. The Houston Astros currently have 47 road wins with seven road games remaining, but it seems safe to say they won’t catch the Indians.
Even the once mighty Los Angeles Dodgers only have 45 road wins, while the Washington Nationals currently sit behind the Indians with 49.
The success on the road helped keep this team in contention earlier in the season when winning at home was a struggle. The team was always the AL Central favorite, but the race was quite close up until the amazing streak began.

The magic of the past month helps fans forget about the struggles earlier in the year, including the six-game Bay Area trip after the All-Star break that saw the Indians lose five of six. So right there was five of the 28 losses. If they had just played .500 on the trip the already insane road record would have been that much better.
We are all witnessing one of the better regular seasons in recent memory, which has been a treat after what seemed like a World Series hangover to begin the season.
But from all the impressive marks that stand out, this road record is one of the best. Add in all the injuries throughout the year and the players who stepped in on short notice and it only becomes more impressive.
The best part about all the road success is that it shows fans that this team has just as good a chance of winning on the road in October as they do at home. The chances on the road may even be better if we go off the road and home marks this season.

The Indians are still fighting for the top overall seed, but no one should be worried whenever this team goes on the road this postseason.
