Cleveland Indians fans got to see Trevor Bauer show some emotion on the mound in Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.
It is easy to be confident when one’s team is riding a double-digit win streak, but Trevor Bauer pitches with playoff intensity against every batter he faces regardless of the situation.
That continued Monday against the Chicago White Sox, but things got particularly heated when Avisail Garcia was taunting Bauer to throw him a fastball.
After some words from Garcia, Bauer struck him out and pointed to the dugout to let Garcia know where he should go. Bauer explained it more in detail after the game.
The adrenaline was flowing today for @BauerOutage!

Some people, who are lame, may be annoyed by this part of Bauer’s personality. But I see no problem with him, or any pitcher, responding to the chirps from Garcia. If a batter is going to talk to a pitcher, there is no reason why the pitcher shouldn’t respond.
That doesn’t mean a pitcher should throw at a player just for exchanging words, but should rather take the route Bauer did and strike him out.

The fiery pitcher now has 15 wins on the season and has become a legitimate third starter on this team while Danny Salazar prepares to rejoin the rotation.
Some fans may still complain about Bauer’s drone incident, but that is just a waste of energy. He is playing well now and is one of the main reasons this team is doing so well in 2017.
Every team needs a player like Trevor Bauer who will stand up and shut down any nonsense. It had to be shocking to him to hear Garcia taunting him even though the Indians are in first place and Bauer has been rolling as of late.
We are seeing a new, more mature side of Bauer this year, which is nice. A few years ago, he may have just threw a fastball right into Garcia’s back, but he knows how valuable he is to this team. He also knows he is a great pitcher and can just strike out annoying batters.

Fans all have their own opinions of Bauer, but there is no denying he brings a much-needed intensity to the team and is the real-life parallel to Ricky Vaughn.
