The Cleveland Indians have been without Josh Tomlin all month, but he is set to make his return in next week’s series in New York.
Cleveland Indians fans are well aware of all the injuries currently plaguing this team. The good news is that most of the injured are expected back sooner than later, with Josh Tomlin the next one to come back.
Tomlin made a rehab start Friday night in Mahoning Valley and is ready for a return early next week.
According to a tweet from Zack Meisel:
Josh Tomlin will start for the Indians on Wednesday in New York. He threw 65 pitches in a rehab game last night.

Ryan Merritt did great in his start Friday night, but it will be nice to have Tomlin back after the great month he had in July.
He logged a 3.41 ERA in five starts, never allowing more than four earned runs in any of the starts. At a time when fans were wondering who would be booted from the six-man rotation, it took a few injuries to actually break up the closely contested group.
As of right now, the injury to Danny Salazar opens up that third starter spot when it comes to the playoff rotation.
Trevor Bauer took advantage of Tomlin’s injury and has himself in that third spot now, but Tomlin can fight for that role if he continues his July ways.

Trying to predict anything about this team is quite difficult in 2017, so we can all sit back and wait to see how Tomlin responds after a month away from major league competition. Regardless, it is nice to see players returning instead of leaving with injuries.
