Cleveland Indians fans are witnessing greatness from so many players on this road trip, and that includes starting pitcher Trevor Bauer.

The Cleveland Indians continue to dominate on the road in 2017 and look to finish off a sweep of the Kansas City Royals this afternoon in Kauffman Stadium.

The entire road trip has featured plenty of storylines including the amazing start to Jay Bruce‘s tenure in Cleveland, along with minor injuries to Jose Ramirez and Corey Kluber.

But one major takeaway from the trip, and the month in general, is the play of Trevor Bauer.

Bauer went 6.1 innings in Saturday night’s win, striking out four and allowing zero runs on seven hits. It is his fifth consecutive start allowing exactly five hits, and the Indians have won four of those games. Perhaps it is the good luck charm.

The right-hander has now made four starts in August, along with one relief appearance, and has allowed a combined five runs in 23 innings of work. It is by far his best month of the season and comes after a July in which he allowed 11 earned runs in just 18.2 innings.

The starting rotation is led by Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco and a healthy Danny Salazar, forming what is considered a dominant trio. But with the way Bauer has been pitching this month, he is right up there with the other three.

His month may not land him in an ALDS rotation, but if he was needed there should be no reason why fans wouldn’t trust Bauer.

That is, if his numbers continue being like what he has done this month and he doesn’t revert back to his first-half ways.

Bauer’s win on Saturday night gives him 12 on the year, which gives the Indians three starting pitchers with 12 wins. As you may have guessed, they are the only team to own such a mark. Pitcher wins aren’t as valuable as they used to be, but it is hard to get to 12 without some great performances.
