Cleveland Indians fans are awaiting Jason Kipnis’ return to the major league roster, and he appears to be headed back soon after some solid rehab games.
The Cleveland Indians were rained out Wednesday night, but a familiar face was in action with a different team.
Jason Kipnis appeared in another game for the Akron RubberDucks as he continues his quest to return from his hamstring injury, and he had himself a solid game.
At this point, just playing without pain is a successful outing, but Kipnis added a home run last night to give the fans in Akron a fun night at the ballpark.

There is no point to keep Kipnis down in the minors if he is truly feeling better, so it seems likely he will be back in Cleveland for the upcoming series against the New York Yankees. Perhaps not tonight, but by the weekend at least.
The fact the Kansas City Royals have matched the Indians with three consecutive losses should help ease the panic some fans have after the rough two games in Boston, and a returning Kipnis should only help this team.
His offensive numbers are down this season, but he has also only played in 66 games so it is entirely possible he breaks out in the final two months of the season.

But dealing with injuries surely hasn’t helped, and his career marks do point to him leveling out those low marks as the season goes on.
