Cleveland Indians: Andrew Miller headed to the 10-day disabled list
The Cleveland Indians have placed Andrew Miller on the 10-day disabled list one night after he had some trouble against the Boston Red Sox.
Just when Cleveland Indians fans may have regained some sense of peace after Tuesday’s loss, some bad news came out from the team Wednesday afternoon.
Andrew Miller is headed to the disabled list after getting rocked against the Boston Red Sox, which causes one to wonder if it was affecting him Tuesday night.
The fact this injury is tendinitis as opposed to any structural issue is a good sign, and it’s entirely possible this DL stint is just as much about getting Miller some rest as it is about him actually feeling any pain. Such is the beauty of the new 10-day disabled list.

Adam Plutko is now up from Columbus, and can be used as a long reliever if necessary.
Miller hasn’t been as dominant in 2017 as he was a year ago, but he still isn’t doing terrible by any means. He has only allowed 10 earned runs in 54 innings this season, and has struck out 78 batters. His 15 walks are a bit much, but still not an alarming mark based on his other numbers.
He is going to be needed a lot over the final two months of the season, so this DL stint will hopefully help him get fully healthy and prepare for the stretch run.
That is, if this tendinitis is not part of a much larger issue.
But speculating on injuries is always futile, so we just have to wait and hope there is nothing terribly wrong.
On another injury note, Josh Tomlin isn’t coming back anytime soon.

These injuries are beginning to bring back memories of how the regular season unfolded in 2016, but things ended up working out in the end. Let’s hope that is once again the case in 2017.
