Corey Kluber didn’t open up the season with All-Star credentials, but he has become one of the hottest pitchers in baseball during the month of June.

Kluber has allowed a total of five runs this month in 35 innings, striking out 52 batters. He has only had under 10 strikeouts in one of his five starts this month.

All of this has come after Kluber returned from the disabled list after missing nearly the entire month of May, so perhaps a nagging injury was bothering him since the start of the season. Whether it’s that or if he prayed to Jobu, the rest has paid off.

Pitchers don’t receive fan votes, but it would be hard to see Kluber left off this roster as he is the ace of one of the top teams in the American League. Not only that, but opposing hitters and managers can vouch for how great he has been this past month.

He is not going to start the All-Star Game, but he is still playing at a high enough level to where he deserves recognition. Because as of right now, he appears on pace to compete for another Cy Young award.
