The Cleveland Indians will play a series against the Minnesota Twins in Puerto Rico next year, which will be a great experience for the players involved.

Cleveland Indians fans are focused on the 2017 season, but a bit of news regarding a series in 2018 may lead to some trips being planned.

The Indians will be playing a two-game series against the Minnesota Twins in Puerto Rico next season, which was announced Wednesday by MLB.

The series helps expand the Indians brand, and also allows fans from Cleveland to see the team play in a new venue.

But the most exciting part will be seeing the local fans react to the Puerto Rican players on the field for both teams.

The most notable of the bunch is Francisco Lindor, who helped carry the Puerto Rican team all the way to the finals of this year’s World Baseball Classic before losing to Team USA in the finals. He dazzled both in the field and at the plate, and is one of the main stars to represent his country.

Roberto Perez is also from Puerto Rico, while Kennys Vargas, Jose Berrios and Eddie Rosario of the Twins are also getting the chance to play in front of their home fans.

As seen in the World Baseball Classic this year, the Puerto Rican fans brought a lot of energy to each and every game. That should remain true when they are cheering on Lindor and the other native players.

The games are important as they are two regular season games, but the experience will have a different feel to it and one that will be fun for Indians fans to watch.

Seeing some energy in the stands similar to a soccer crowd is a nice change from the sometimes dull environment in some MLB stadiums. It’s baseball, people should be having fun.

Our collective focus is on this season, but a trip to Puerto Rico would sure be a fun way to begin the season as defending champions.
