In a not so surprising move by the Cleveland Indians, theyâve added another arm to the bullpenâand you guessed itâon a minor league deal. Itâs hard to tell if the Indians are savvy or scared. They donât see, to be willing to sign anyone to anything other than a minor league deal, and it feels like theyâve invited 200 players to camp. Former Washington Nationalsâ reliever Craig Stammen joins that group as the Tribe added him yesterday.

Yesterday, I discussed how I felt the best move for the Indians is to âlay lowâ, not making any moves till after Spring Training cuts start taking place. Stammen wasnât what I had in mind when I talked about potential free agents still out there. But with a perceived âfearâ of making a bad signing, waiting to see how players fare in camps that donât make another teams roster could be a safe play as they look for a few more pieces to the puzzle.
There is much anticipation for Francisco Lindorâs first full season in the majors. After finishing second in the AL Rookie of the Year race, the sophomore season of Frankie hopes to be something special for the Indians. With players like Bradley Zimmer and Clint Frazier just a few years behind, Lindor could very quickly become the face of a very young and talented team.
