Believe it or not, the Cleveland Indians appear to be the best run franchise in the city. It’s hard to believe, but the Cavs and Browns have made that an easy case to prove.

The
Cleveland Indianshaven’t spent money like their NBA neighbors in the Cavs. The Detroit Tigers, however, seems to believe they can buy their way to a title. The Cavs have turned into quite the sideshow in recent day, so will big spending lead to the same for the Tigers? We can only hope so.
Speaking of dysfunction, are friends over at Let’s Go Tribe have also noticed what’s going on in Cleveland. And while the offseason has been a bit of a drag (again), it’s clear the Indians are the best run sports franchise in the city, and have been for several years. Can this be true? Frighteningly, yes it can.
We’ve talked a lot about the Indians pitching this winter–mostly in cases where we thought some of it could be traded. But now that the dust is beginning to settle, it’s clear they were ahead of the curve in the pitching Tsunami that has struck in recent years. With quality arms at a premium, the Indians locked up their big guns ahead of schedule, and for better numbers than what we’re seeing now. They couldn’t have known it would be like this, but luck or not–the Indians won at this.
