With 2015 well in the rear-view mirror, it is time to set our sights on 2016. In other news, Jeff Mount asks if it is difficult to conduct business with the front office. He sites two recent non-trades to which reporters have linked the Cleveland Indians have never came to fruition. Instead, other teams have swooped in and snagged deals, leaving the Indians empty-handed. While Jeff certainly does have a point, it is worth remembering that other teams may have valued the Indians’ players as worse than those that they have received in said transactions. General managers do not decide to make a bad trade; they believe that the deal is good.
Finally, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com looks back at the Cleveland Indians in 2015. Among the biggest moments he listed are the pair of aces in Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, the Indians’ support for Mike Aviles’ daughter, Adriana Aviles, and Francisco Lindor’s emergence. The article is worth a read, as it provides some nice closure on what has been a season to remember.
