Did Lindor get the shaft in the Rookie of the Year vote?

Don’t get us wrong, Carlos Correa of the Houston Astros had a fantastic year. And of course, so did the Cleveland IndiansFrancisco Lindor. But sometimes it can be the success of the team that makes a difference for a vote like that. Was that the case? Who knows. But Lindor finished second in the voting for the AL Rookie of the Year award. Prior to the vote, we took a look at why Lindor should not only win the award but handily take home the hardware.

Over in the National League, the Chicago Cubs Kris Bryant met the hype that preceded him with a season to match as he was a unanimous winner for the NL Rookie of the Year. The Cubs youth movement helped propel them to the NLCS, and with talent in the system and open spots on the roster, it might not be a bad idea to examine a similar path in Cleveland.

Players only meeting are still one of the “traditions” in sports that are kept hush. Many times when you hear of a team having one, there was probably one before that you didn’t hear about. Sometimes constructive, sometimes heated, the closed door sessions act as a way for teams to try and solve the issue in-house as opposed to it leaking into the media.
