UPDATE: Danny Salazar Won’t Be Charged For Possible Sexual Assualt

UPDATE 2, 4:18 p.m.: No charges will be filed against Cleveland Indians pitcher Danny Salazar, reports MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian and multiple Cleveland TV news outlets.

Bastian added via Twitter that the City Prosecutor presented the case today.

Per Cleveland.com’s Paul Hoynes, the investigation related to a January 22 incident at the Cleveland Hustler Club, which was reported the next day.

“Detectives presented the case involving rape allegations with the suspect being Danny Salazar to the city prosecutor’s office today and no charges were issued against Mr. Salazar,” read a statement by Jennifer Ciaccia, spokeswoman for the Cleveland Police Department.

Wahoo’s on First will continue to monitor the story if any new confirmed information is provided.

UPDATE: Bastian spoke with Cleveland Indians general manager Chris Antonetti, who provided a statement on the investigation of possible sexual assault by Indians pitcher Danny Salazar. “We are aware of an investigation involving Danny,” said Antonetti. “Since this potentially could become a legal matter, we won’t have any additional comment at this time.” Wahoo’s on First will continue to update this story as details of the investigation are confirmed.
