As expected, the Cleveland Guardians will be getting a City Connect jersey sometime during the 2024 season. With nine teams getting a City Connect jersey this year, only two teams will be left without one (the Yankees and Athletics, obviously).

The Guardians - now fully entrenched in their rebrand - join the Tigers, Twins, Mets, Phillies, Cardinals, Rays, and Blue Jays as teams getting in on the City Connect fun. In many cases, the City Connect jerseys are a huge deviation from a team's traditional look, and while that can be a polarizing thing for fans to contend with, some of the City Connect designs are objectively awesome (I'm looking at you, San Diego).

The Guardians could certainly be one of the cooler teams in the mix, and it would be fun to see the team try something that isn't based around the main red, white, and navy colors that so many other teams utilize. Somehow that doesn't seem like much of a possibility, but it's worth trying to throw that out into the universe.

Speaking of that, please, please please, for the love of all things holy, let's not put a guitar on the jersey.

One interesting note about this round of City Connects is that it includes the Dodgers, who are already scrapping their original City Connect look for a new one. The Washington Nationals will be retiring their cool cherry-blossom City Connect theme after 2024 as well. Is the day eventually coming where MLB teams start blowing through new jersey designs each and every season?

It wouldn't be the worst thing, you know.
