Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?

It will be the second start of the season for Cleveland Guardians Ace Shane Bieber, and it could not be coming at a better time. Cleveland has lost two straight games, and they need to win on Tuesday to avoid losing their first series of the season. Hopefully Bieber can build off his impressive performance against the Oakland Athletics on Opening Day that saw him strike out 11 in 6 innings in an 8-0 Guardians win.

Bieber faced Seattle just once last season, ptiching 6 shutout innings with six hits allowed and three strikeouts in what ended up being a 3-0 Guardians loss. Cleveland is going to need another outing like that if they are going to come out on top this time around. Luckily, Bieber has been pretty successful against Seattle's lineup in previous matchups. The 2020 Cy Young Winnner has allowed a .235/.262/.265 slash line in 102 at-bats versus the Mariners, with just three of the 24 hits allowed going for extra-bases (all doubles). If this carries over into Tuesday's matchup, the Guardians could have a chance to snap their current two-game losing streak.

Who will the Cleveland Guardians lineup face?

Seattle will have Luis Castillo counter Bieber. Castillo is coming off an outing which saw him give up four runs on six hits while striking out five and walking two in a 6-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox. The bad news is that seems to be an outlier for Castillo.

It was Castillo who was on the other side of Cleveland's loss on Opening Day in 2023, limiting the Guardians to just one hit while striking out six in 6 innings. The good news is that there a few players with success against Castillo in the past. Jose Ramirez has five hits in 20 at-bats, all going for extra bases (three home runs and two triples), Josh Naylor is 4-12, and Steven Kwan is 3-9.
