Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?

Triston McKenzie will start the second of two games on Saturday for the Cleveland Guardians. McKenzie's second outing of the season went a little bit better than his first, limiting the Chicago White Sox to just three hits in 5.2 innings. However, walks were an issue for McKenzie, as four White Sox batters would reach via the free pass. This cannot carry over into today's start against the Yankees because there are more than enough bats in their lineup that can hit a multi-run homer if given the opportunity to do so.

The good news is that McKenzie has mostly kept Yankees hitters in check during their previous matchups. Mckenzie has limited Aaron Judge (1-6, home run), Giancarlo Stanton (1-8), Gleyber Torres (1-8), Jose Trevino (0-3), and Anthony Rizzo (0-4). Oswaldo Cabrera (2-2), double and home run) and Alex Verdugo (2-3) are the only Yankees with multiple hits against McKenzie.

Who will the Cleveland Guardians lineup face?

New York will hand the ball off to Cody Poteet for Saturday's second game. This will be Poteet's first major league appearance since the 2022 season, missing most of 2023 after undergoing surgery.

In his 19 career appearances at the major league level, Poteet has a 4.45 ERA and 1.278 WHIP in 58.2 innings, all coming with the Miami Marlins. This will be the first time in Poteet's career facing anyone in the Guardians' lineup.
