Cleveland Guardians Probable Pitcher and Starting Lineup vs Kansas City Royals June 27
Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?
The Cleveland Guardians will have Ben Lively start the first of four games against the Royals in Kansas City. Lively is coming off a start that saw him allow two runs on three hits in 5.2 innings during last Saturday's 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. For the most part, this was a typical outing from Lively. The 32-year-old veteran has given up three runs or less in all but one start this season, in addition to allowing more than six hits just one time.
Lively does not have a ton of experience against Kansas City's batters, but when they have matched up things have not gone well. The Royals have seven hits in 17 at-bats against Lively, not exactly an ideal stat line for the veteran righty. Granted, these previous meetings came before 2024's breakout season and there is a very good chance things end up going his way this time around.
Who will the Cleveland Guardians lineup face?
Kansas City will counter with veteran pitcher Michael Wacha. The fellow 32-year-old veteran right-hander is in the midst of a stretch that has seen him allow two runs or fewer in six straight starts, giving up just one run twice during that span. It is not going to be easy for the Guardians on Thursday night, considering they only have four hits in 30 previous at-bats against Wacha, all singles.
