Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?

Xzavion Curry will get the nod for the Cleveland Guardians to make his fourth start of the 2024 season. Curry last pitched in relief on July 12th, giving up one hit while striking out three Tampa Bay Rays in 1.2 innings. The soon-to-be 26-year-old is taking the place of the recently DFA'd Spencer Howard in Cleveland's rotation.

Curry has made three starts earlier this season, with each start being shorter than the one that preceded it. The last time Curry started was back on May 27th in Colorado, giving up six runs (seven total) on six hits in 3.1 innings.

Tigers hitters have found success against Curry in the past, slashing .385/.385/.423 in 26 at-bats. Riley Greene leads the way with three hits in eight at-bats while Zach McKinstry (2-3), Andy Ibanez (2-5), and Javier Baez (2-7) also have multiple hits against Curry. Given Curry's previous starts and Detroit not experiencing much difficulty against him in the past, it could be a brief outing with the game being turned over to the bullpen if the Tigers get on the board early.
