Cleveland Guardians Probable Pitcher and Starting Lineup vs Atlanta Braves April 28
Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?
The Cleveland Guardians will hand the ball off to Ben Lively to start the final game in Atlanta. Livey has gotten off to an incredible start for the Guardians, allowing just three runs in 11.1 innings with seven strikeouts in back-to-back starts (14 total). Cleveland desperately needed someone to step up following Shane Bieber's season-ending injury, and Lively has been more than up to the challenge so far.
Things have not gone well for Lively in previous matchups with Braves hitters. As a team, Atlanta is 9-21 with a double and a home run, resulting in a slash line of .429/.478/.619. Perhaps the new and improved Lively will have much better luck this time around.
Who will the Cleveland Guardians lineup face?
The Braves will have Bryce Elder start on Sunday afternoon. Elder was impressive in his first start of the season, pitching 6.2 shutout innings against the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old did allow eight hits in the contest but was able to work around them and keep Miami off the scoreboard.
There is not an extensive history between Cleveland hitters and Elder, but it is worth noting that Steven Kwan's 3-4 batting line accounts for all, but one hit against him (the other belongs to Ramon Laureano). The Guardians are going to need others in the lineup to step it up if they are going to continue their impressive start to the season.
