Who is the Cleveland Guardians probable starting pitcher?

The Guardians will have Logan Allen start the first game of their three-game road series against the Atlanta Braves. Allen has not had the best start to 2024, with an ERA over 5 and nine walks issued in 21.2 innings. Cleveland is going to need Allen to take a step forward on the mound if they are going to come out with a win on Friday night, but that is a big ask, considering they are facing a very potent Braves lineup.

Who will the Cleveland Guardians lineup face?

Atlanta will have a very familiar face take the mound for Friday night's matchup, as former Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale draws the start. Sale has given up eight runs in his last two starts, five of which surprisingly came against the Miami Marlins in what was their third win of the season.

There is only one player in the Guardians lineup with a notable amount of previous at-bats against Sale, and that would be Jose Ramirez. Cleveland's third baseman is 8-27 with a double against Sale lifetime while also managing to draw four walks. Steven Kwan (1-3) and Andres Gimenez (1-2) are the only other Guardians with hits off of Sale, while Ramon Laureano and Gabriel Arias are both 0-2.
