The Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins are in the midst of a dog fight atop the AL Central.

This weekend, the Guardians will host the Milwaukee Brewers in what could be a pivotal interleague series. They'll roll with their ace, Shane Bieber, in the series opener, and he'll take on Wade Miley of the Brewers.

Let's take a look at the odds for Friday night's showdown and then I'll give you my best bet.

Brewers vs. Guardians odds, run line, and total

Brewers vs. Guardians prediction and pick

The Guardians are the bet to make in this one. Sure, they have to take on Wade Miley, who sports a strong 3.28 ERA on the season, but what's more important is that he's a lefty. The Guardians have dominated left-handed pitchers lately.

In fact, over the last 30 days the Guardians have the fifth best OPS against left-handed pitchers at .810. They're also third in batting average against lefties during that span at .297.

Meanwhile, the Brewers offense has been terrible lately. Over the past 30 days, they're 29th in the Majors in OPS at .633. Only the Oakland Athletics have been worse over that time frame.

Things won't get any easier for them against Shane Bieber, who rocks a 3.51 ERA on the season.

Let's back the Guardians as home favorites in this series opener.
