Five years may not seem like a long time, but to be consistently good or consistently bad for half of a decade is something thatcan only be describedas incredibly difficult. But it appears that the Cleveland Guardians havebeen identifiedas a team capable of maintaining their success moving forward, according to Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller.

Being named as one of the teams to be included in Miller's Ranking the 10 MLB Franchises Primed for Most Success in Next 5 Years, are the Guardians. Cleveland is the fifth-ranked team on this list, behind only the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers. This is pretty good company to be in, considering one of these teams is a young up-and-coming group, while the others are notable for being much larger markets with payrolls that reflect that.

It is the Guardians having multiple players under team control combined with their success this season that appears to be the driving force behind their placement on this list by Miller.

"Now, with one of the best records in baseball and what can only be described as a heaping stockpile of key players under team control through at least 2028, it sure looks like Cleveland is going to be a contender for years to come."

Miller would also make note of Cleveland holding the number one pick in the upcoming June amateur draft as an important asset, considering the Guardians are not big spenders in free agency and their lack of top prospects in the minors.

"We pretty much know at this point that the Guardians aren't going to spend money on free agents, and there's not much of a cavalry coming in the form of top prospects in the farm system. "

Growth and development of the current group of players in the majors, in addition to whoever they select first overall in the draft, should lead to the Guardians having sustainable success moving forward. It is that combination of young, inexpensive talent that should help propel the Guardians to the top of the American League Central division and perhaps even result in achieving their ultimate goal.
