The Cleveland Guardians have been one of the best teams in major league baseball from a wins and losses standpoint for quite some time now. Cleveland has gone 1036-842, good for a .552 winning percentage and third-best in the sport behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.

What the Guardians have put on the field has clearly been a winning product, but what about the future of this organization? Do they have enough pieces in place for their winning ways to continue? According to Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller, they do.

Guardians ranked one of MLB's Most Promising Young Cores

Miller believes that the Guardians have a bright future ahead of them, including Cleveland as one of the10-highest-ranking young cores. Each team was assigned a "Core Four" of players who are currently in their age 25 season or younger. This eliminates players like Tanner Bibee and Steven Kwan from consideration, leaving the Guardians with an intriguing group.

The core four for the ninth-ranked Guardians feature Kyle Manzardo, Gavin Williams, Bo Naylor, and Gabriel Arias. Miller lists a few others who fit the qualifications of the core four but just missed making the cut in Angel Martinez, Jhonkensy Noel, Brayan Rocchio, and Joey Cantillo. Travis Bazzana is also mentioned as part of the equation, but is sort of tacked on at the end considering he is yet to make his MLB Debut.

It is pointed out that the Guardians do not have the same level of star power that the higher ranked teams do, as a few of them already have established superstar caliber players that meet the core four criteria, specifically Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll, Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, and Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz. Being ranked below teams with these players as part of their core four is a more than fair assessment of where each team stacks up from a young talent perspective.

It's all about sustained success in Cleveland

Even though the Guardians do not have young players who are household names and have appeared on the cover of the latest edition of MLB: The Show, it's about the collective contributions from all players involved that have played a very large part in Cleveland being a successful team on the field for as long as they have.

This is an organization that knows how to manage their roster in an effective manner, even if they have had to navigate some of the self-imposed obstacles placed in their way. Year in and year out, this organization fields a team that has proven capable of competing with and even defeating organizations from larger markets with significantly more expensive rosters.

Even if the Guardians' young group of players does not command the same level of star power, there is a pretty good chance they will end up being the more successful squad from a team-based perspective in due time. That has been the case so many times before, and it is best to expect that to continue until they prove no longer capable of doing so.
