The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox battled 13 times in the 2026 regular season as they jockeyed for the American League Central title.
The Guardians ended up winning that title thanks to a strong September highlighted by a series win over the White Sox, but Chicago has a great chance to get its revenge in this year’s ALDS between the two teams.
The White Sox are entering the series riding high after a dominant road sweep of the Astros in the American League Wild Card Series, but the Guardians are entering the series fresh thanks to a week-long bye that helped them set their pitching staff.
Although the two teams have faced off a lot in the regular season, this is the first postseason matchup between the two teams, and should be must-see TV.
Speaking of TV, this series will be fairly easy to watch, both via traditional cable methods and streaming options.

Parker Messick is going to start Game 1 of the series for the Guardians ahead of Gavin Williams taking the ball in Game 2. The White Sox have yet to announce their pitching plans for the series.
Turner has the American League portion of the postseason this year, which means both ALDS series and the ALCS are going to be broadcast on TBS as opposed to FOX, which has the National League.
All three of the Guardians’ ALDS berths since 2020 have come in TBS years, which has led to plenty of their postseason highlights coming with the Turner scorebug in the corner.

Alex Faust will serve as the play-by-play voice for the series while Ron Darling will be the analyst and reporter Lauren Jbara will be reporting from the field. Turner’s No. 1 team led by play-by-play man Brian Anderson will be on the Yankees - Rays series.
This series is a clear No. 2 when it comes to the ALDS, which is why the series has such odd start times and got the B broadcast team.
But that ‘B team’ is still a solid pairing, as Faust has done a good job on his national broadcast assignments while Darling boasts a plethora of baseball knowledge (though he can be a little dry at times).
The games will be available on TBS and TruTV via traditional TV methods like cable or YouTube TV along with being available via streaming on HBO Max.
Even if this series is going to be second fiddle to the other ALDS series, it’s still going to be a great series that could push the Guardians to their second ALCS in three seasons.
