The Cleveland Guardians and Washington Nationals were supposed to kick off their three-game series taking place at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. at 6:45 P.M. on Monday. That has now changed due to possible inclement weather in the area.
The Nationals Park account posted that Monday night's game will begin in a delay with no official update on a start time.
We are currently monitoring an inclement weather system in the area. For the safety of our guests, players and staff, the start of today’s game has been delayed.

Guardians at Nationals Rain Delay: Latest updates on the weather and when the game will start
The start time is yet to be announced but will be updated here when provided. Monday night's delay could be a long one, as the forecast for the area is showing storms in the 8 o'clock hour. The weather does clear up after the storms and that should allow for the game to be played, but it could end up being a sizable delay once the storms have passed.
UPDATE: 7:34 P.M.
Tonight's game has been postponed with the two teams set to play a doubleheader on Tuesday with the first game set to take place at 3:35 P.M.

Traditonal doubleheader tomorrow. Game 1 at 3:35. Game 2 approximately 30 minutes after first game ends.
It sure seems like the Guardians cannot get away from the rain as of late, as this is the third game in the past week that has been impacted by local weather conditions. Cleveland experienced two delayed starts in their previous series against the MinUPDATE: 7:34 P.M.nesota Twins, with just being the latest in a recent cluster of games starting later than initially expected.
These games taking place at Nationals Park this week are the only three matchups between the Nationals and Guardians this season. In previous years this could have posed a problem, but that is no longer the case after the National League adopting the designated hitter rule. This put an end to pitchers having to hit and has produced a more watchable product as a whole.
The Guardians have been on somewhat of an upward trajectory recently, with their success over the past week resulting in moving into the Top 10 of a recently published MLB Power Rankings list. Cleveland still has plenty of work to do if they are going to play the consistently good level of baseball expected of them, but what they have done since their slow start has been beyond impressive.
