9. Bo Naylor, C
While Naylor finished last season with a batting average of .195, he hit .290 across the final month of the season and added a big three-run home run against the Tigers in the Wild Card Series.
He was a marquee prospect during his time as a minor leaguer and stood out as a tangible example of the Guardians turning the corner at catcher, but his early-career struggles are starting to become too much to ignore.
That said, the Guardians catching situation should be better next year thanks to David Fry being able to work as a catcher alongside Naylor and Austin Hedges. Naylor should get the lion’s share of work behind the plate, but the Guardians are going to need more from him if they want to compete in the loaded American League.
