A change of scenery could be exactly what the Cleveland Guardians need

The first two games of the ALCS have not been an enjoyable endeavor for the Cleveland Guardians. The Bronx has not been a welcome setting for Cleveland, and the New York Yankees now own a 2-0 lead, thanks in part to that. It seems that every negative attribute this team has displayed at some point during the season have resurfaced over the course of two days in New York, which has resulted in being in their current unenviable position. However, with the series now shifting to Cleveland, that may be just what they need to make the ALCS a bit more competitive than what it has so far.

It is understandable why there is a sense of doom and gloom among the fanbase as things stand currently. The Guardians are not playing at an acceptable level of a team four wins away from the World Series. Yankee Stadium has proved to be an unforgiving place for this Guardians team that is still very young for the most part. But with the first two games in the books, the change of venue that is about to take place could be exactly what this team needs to get back to playing at the level that led to having the second-best record in the American League.

The general consensus for most may be that this series is already over, and to hold that sentiment is somewhat understandable. The Yankees are somehow playing like the team they used to be and act like currently, despite having very accolades over the past two decades. This is honestly something that is quite puzzling, considering they are a very flawed team that has somehow gotten by without missing a step. While some of that can be attributed to beginning the ALCS in New York, it also seems like they are a team due for things to start bouncing the other way.

Sure, most of this has been about the Yankees and very little about the Guardians. Well, there really is not a whole lot of positives to say about how they performed over the first two games. Brief outings from their starters, mistakes in the field, and an offense that has looked lifeless does not exactly result in some sort of positive spinjob, because let's be real here, anyone trying to do so is simply looking from a fan's point of view rather than a critical one. This team needs to do a complete 180, and perhaps the setting changing to their home field on the corner of Carnegie and Ontario will get this team playing back to the level that everyone knows they are capable of.
