Kazmir burst onto the scene at the end of the 2000s with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays before he was traded to the Angels, where he struggled with injury and ineffectiveness.

He spent all of the 2012 season rehabbing and pitching in various independent leagues before signing a minor league contract with the Indians in spring training that ended with him earning the No. 5 spot in the rotation out of camp

That set up a strong bounce-back season where Kazmir posted a 4.04 ERA in 158 innings and came in third in Comeback Player of the Year voting.

Kazmir then went on to be an All-Star for the Athletics in 2014 before pitching for the Astros, Dodgers and Giants at the end of his career.

OF Drew Stubbs, 2013

The Indians’ trade of Stubbs signified Cleveland’s intent to contend under new manager Terry Francona, and Stubbs did his part to hold up his end of the deal. Cleveland acquired him from the Reds as a part of a deal that sent Shin-Soo Choo to Cincinnati and brought Bryan Shaw and Trevor Bauer to Cleveland.

Stubbs had a .305 on-base percentage with 10 home runs and 45 RBI in his one season with Cleveland, and held down a veteran outfield that also included Michael Bourn and a budding superstar in Michael Brantley.

He went on to play four more seasons for five different teams after leaving Cleveland.
