2. Mike Zunino 

Another 2023 signing, another disaster. 

Along with signing Bell in 2023, Antonetti elected to roll the dice on him with a one-year contract in the hope that had fully recovered from the thoracic outlet syndrome that labored him the season prior. 

That didn’t turn out to be the case. Although he started the season hot and hit .313 through the first 11 games of the season, he went 8-for-66 across his final 23 games with Cleveland before being released. He didn’t play for another team the rest of the season and retired the next spring.

Although Zunino’s release gave the Guardians a chance to play Bo Naylor everyday, his lack of production was still disappointing given the $6 million investment the Guardians had made in him.
