5. Guardians repeat as American League Central Division Champions
Of the predictions appearing on this list, this is the one most likely to receive the most amount of pushback.
The Cleveland Guardians finding a way to repeat as Champions of the American League Central Division would be quite a feat following the way they have operated this winter. As previously mentioned, Andres Gimenez is no longer their starting second baseman, and this is in addition to Cleveland trading Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Losing two key players may make it difficult for the Guardians, but it is not as impossible as it seems. Cleveland still has a really solid foundation and one that has proven to be quite stable over the past few years. Stability may not be the most exciting attribute of a team, but it is one that usually results in at least being able to have a .500 season. This, paired with Cleveland still having one of the better rosters in the division, should result in winning the AL Central again, and perhaps quite comfortably.
The other teams in the division are gunning for the Guardians next season, but it just seems like their talent floor is higher and more reliable than any other team in the division, and that should give them an advantage in staying atop the AL Central in 2025.
