It was a successful season for the Cleveland Guardians in 2024. Finishing the season with an American League Central-best 92-69 record and making an appearance in the ALCS against the New York Yankees, it was an impressive first season at the helm for manager Stephen Vogt.

Now in year two, more will be expected of the Guardians, and the following way too early predictions could be a way for that to become a reality.

1. Another Starting Pitcher is added before Opening Day

The state of the Guardians' starting rotation is a topic that has been thoroughly discussed this offseason. With just one known commodity in their rotation that will be available on Opening Day (Tanner Bibee), there has been an obvious need for help following Cleveland's number-one starter. Expecting the same success as last season with a pieced-together group is a foolish endeavor and not one that will often yield positive results.

Finding a way to add another proven starter into their rotation would go a long way for the Guardians in 2025. Counting on the likes of Ben Lively, Triston McKenzie, Logan Allen, Luis Ortiz, or Slade Cecconi to carry three out of five starts per week for an entire season is not the best idea, as the Guardians need someone they can count on to provide consistent results once every five days. Limiting the starts this group sees over the course of a season would be in Cleveland's best competitive interests.
