3. Teoscar Hernandez - Los Angeles Dodgers
If the Cleveland Guardians are looking for someone who has proven to be a more consistent presence at the plate rather than hope players who have worked their way back from some career low points, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez should be on their radar.
Over the past five seasons, Hernandez has slashed .274/.328/.493 with a 162-game average of 34 doubles and 34 home runs during that span. There is not a large amount of variance in either total in the last four seasons (2020 is being omitted here due to being a shortened season), with Hernandez having between 25 and 35 doubles and home runs in any given season. This shows a level of consistency rather than one or two seasons inflating averages over multiple years and that he can be a meaningful contributor over an extended period.
Hernandez may be near or out of Cleveland's comfort zone from a financial standpoint, and the fact he is entering his age 32 season may be somewhat concerning. With that being said, consistent production like this does not come cheap, and it is exactly what the Guardians should be looking for when targeting players in free agency, especially for a team that could use this type of offensive output.
