The state of the Cleveland Guardians' outfield is better now than when the season started, but there is still some room for improvement.
Steven Kwan is the only member of Cleveland's outfield who is an everyday player, while the other options would be best suited for playing in a part-time/platoon/bench role. There is nothing wrong with having one or two players like that, but usually, they are behind at least one other regular starter. Not helping matters is that there is not an immediate solution waiting in the wings and that is what this team needs right now, someone who can contribute on Opening Day next season.
While there are more than a few who want the Guardians to give their internal options a shot first before exploring the free agent market, the fact of the matter is those options are either not good enough, possess redundant skill sets, or have a recently identified issue in their approach. Finding alternatives to what they already have is an absolute must. It could very well make the difference between matching or surpassing what they accomplished in 2024, and one of the following five outfielders could very well be exactly what they need.
