MLB's Winter Meetings are in the rearview mirror, and the Cleveland Guardians have plenty of work to do. As things stand currently, the Guardians have taken a step back following their decision to unload Andres Gimenez and the remaining financial commitment to him on Toronto. All is not lost, however, as there are four decisions they must make in order to improve their roster for the upcoming season.

1. Make a decision on what they are doing with Josh Naylor

This was expected to be the story of the winter, but the above-mentioned trade of Gimenez has stolen the spotlight for the time being. Anyway, the Guardians have to figure out what their plans are for Josh Naylor in 2025.

Rumors have been swirling about Naylor's potential availability on the trade market, and they have not stopped following the trade of Gimenez. Naylor is entering his final arbitration-eligible season before becoming a free agent after the conclusion of next season. Players with this description are usually dealt by the Guardians, so they ensure they get something rather than the nothing they would receive if a player leaves in free agency.

While no one faults the Guardians for their process, considering the number of positive results it has produced in the past, ending the will they or won't they with Naylor sooner rather than later will allow them to focus their efforts on improving other areas of the roster.
