Jakob Junis - Relief Pitcher
Just like the previously mentioned Joey Cantillo, the contributions the Cleveland Guardians have received from Jakob Junis out of the bullpen early on this season have proven quite useful, considering the state of their starting rotation at the moment.
Junis is yet to give up a run in any of his eight appearances this season, tied with Paul Sewald and Cade Smith for the most of Cleveland's relievers. In the 8 innings pitched, Junis has allowed six hits and walked one batter while striking out seven in 31 total batters faced.
Opponents are slashing just .200/.226/.200 against Junis this season, with all the hits being singles. Junis being able to limit opposing batters to only one base in the event they do register a hit has, without a doubt, played a large role in his success.
When it comes to Junis, he does not need to be elite by any means, as Cleveland already has arms in their bullpen that qualify for that designation. The Guardians just need Junis to provide relatively consistent results when called upon. If he can accomplish that task, it should help elevate the overall performance of Cleveland's entire group of relievers.
