The Cleveland Guardians have gotten off to a so-so start in 2025, as they have managed to be just above the .500 mark with an 8-7 record. Cleveland has been equal parts good and bad, but it is a select few who have performed positive end of the spectrum that have played a major part in the Guardians experiencing any type of success.
Honorable Mention - Gabriel Arias
Cleveland's most frequently used player at second base this season, Gabriel Arias, receives Honorable Mention status due to performing better than anyone could have reasily expected. Arias has a .267/.333/.489 slash line with three home runs and one double in 14 games played.
The 25-year-old infielder has one of the better stat lines of Guardians hitters this season, ranking third in home runs behind Jose Raimirez and Kyle Manzardo while his seven runs batted in is tied for third. The one thing that has relegated Arias to the Honorable Mention category rather than making the cut here is his strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Arias has struck out 15 times in 45 at-bats, tied for second-most on the team, and walked only four times. This almost 4-1 ratio suggests that there will be a stat correction coming, and it could see Arias falling a bit behind the others in Cleveland's lineup, but for now, the production he has provided has proven more than helpful.
