2. Kyle Manzardo - Designated Hitter/ First Base
If there is one player who can ease the worries of Cleveland Guardians fans about their offense in 2025, it would be Kyle Manzardo. The 24-year-old first baseman is expected to shoulder a much larger load of the offense in 2025, and he certainly seems ready to take on that challenge based on his performance in Arizona.
In 16 games, Manzardo is 15-46 with three home runs, two doubles, and one triple while driving in seven. Manzardo's .976 OPS is the highest of players who should play a meaningful role for the Guardians this season.
Even though it is only spring training and the numbers accumulated in Cactus League play do not really mean anything, seeing someone like Manzardo put up this type of stat line is very encouraging. Cleveland needs Manzardo to live up to his potential in 2025, and being this locked in during spring makes it appear much more likely to happen.
Cleveland is going to need Manzardo to take that next step forward offensively if they are going to match or exceed last season's success. The Guardians traded Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks this past offseason and signed longtime fan favorite Carlos Santana to pair with Manzardo. A combination of Santana providing moderate production and Manzardo being a key cog should lengthen the Guardians' lineup and ultimately prove that last season was not a fluke.
