The Guardians have been busy on the transaction front this week, from calling up top prospect Gabriel Arias to putting a few key names on the injured list.

The Cleveland Guardians have made a flurry of moves ahead of their doubleheader with the Chicago White Sox Wednesday, including calling up top prospect Gabriel Arias, who is starting at second base and batting seventh in the first game.

Though it seemed like Arias was simply the 29th man for the doubleheader, he’ll likely be with the team for a longer stretch, as infielder Owen Miller was also added to the injured list. Pitchers Cal Quantrill and Anthony Castro will be joining Miller on the IL, all for currently unknown reasons (similar to what happened with Yu Chang last week).

Both Miller and Quantrill have been off to solid starts this season. Miller is currently batting .500 with an astounding seven doubles, which leads all of baseball, while Quantrill is sporting a 3.72 ERA in two starts.

In a corresponding move, the Guardians have called up pitchers Kirk McCarty, Tanner Tully and Enyel De Los Santos from Triple-A Columbus.
