Combined

Individually, all three of these players have been nothing short of spectacular in their roles, whatever they may be that game, so far this season. However, when it comes to being the best bullpen trio in baseball it isn’t just individual performance, but how they do as a unit.

As Zack Meisel said in his tweet, this trio is combining for a 0.99 ERA this season along with 13 saves. If they were one player, which in all fairness might not be the best comparison, this trio would be tied for second in baseball for saves and among the top eight closers in the game for ERA. But this isn’t one pitcher who tosses one inning, this is the work of three pitchers who can shutdown an offense from the seventh inning on in almost any contest.

This bullpen’s ability to essentially shorten games to six or seven innings paired with the offense’s recent late inning rallies has been keeping the team in games of late. If this trio can continue to perform as one of the best, if not the best, bullpens in the game and the offense can get going, the 2021 season could be on the cusp of becoming very exciting for fans of the Cleveland Indians.
