Cleveland Indians: More madness and crazy rumors

I’m not panicking. No really. I love seeing my favorite Cleveland Indians players mentioned in rumors that have them being traded to the Yankees. I’m fine.

The rumors continue to swirl about the available names on the Cleveland Indians roster.

According to a tweet from Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees are meeting with the Cleveland Indians today to discuss possible trades between the two teams.

*screams into the abyss* I’d be fine with the Red Sox, the Astros, hell, even the Tigers… but the Yankees? This is the end. Doom and gloom hath overshadowed Cleveland once again. Adding Corey Kluber or Carlos Carrasco to the Yankees rotation would make them absolutely dominant.

It’s starting to look more and more like the Tribe rotation will look pretty different in 2019 and I’m not ready for it. Seeing our beloved ace in pinstripes would be among the low points of this decade for the Tribe. It would be the second time in 15 years an Indians ace pitcher would wind up in New York. I’m not ready to relive C.C. Sabathia going to New York all over again.

The window of contention is closing, we know that. But seeling parts of this rotation or bullpen feels like the window slamming shut. Sure the Yankees have prospects; good ones, at that. Yes I know I mentioned them as possible trade partners the other day. Apparently, this evil has been spoken into existence.

If Kluber or Cookie are sent to New York, I give all of you Indians fans advice; hang on to Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez and protect them at all costs. If this means that we sign Lindor to a lifetime contract, take everybody.

Am I overreacting? Probably. Am I going to burn my Corey Kluber jersey? Hell no. But I can’t help but feel like we’ve seen the last of this dominant Indians team for a few years. I’m just not ready to accept that yet.
