The Indians will NOT let you sweep them

Say what you will about the Indians play outside of their division, they aren’t going to roll over. The last team to sweep the Tribe was the Yankees back in May. They have dropped to 0-2 in several series’ but they don’t get swept. Credit the character of this team to not quit. They could have rolled over after Tuesday’s debacle and instead they came out and scored 19 runs.

Revenge REVENGE

The Yankees have tortured the Tribe lately. Outside of the sweep this year, they knocked the Indians out of the ALDS when they had the AL’s best record. The Indians and their fans have not forgotten that. They exacted some revenge on the Cubs already this year, now they’ll look to do the same on their home turf against the Bronx Bombers.

Worse/Best case scenario

Worse case: 1-3 series loss

The Indians will not be swept by the Yankees again, the Indians will not be swept by the Yankees again, the Indians will not be swept by the Yankees again, the Indians will not be swept by the Yankees again….

Best case: 3-1 series win.

This is a bit of a stretch but it would be huge for the Tribe to take three of these games before heading to the All-Star break. Sure it’ll be tough, but they have some great pitchers on the mound and a high-powered offense that can go toe-to-toe with the Yankees. A win here will allow the Tribe to gain some ground in the playoff race.

Next: This week in Tribe history

The series kicks off tonight and runs until Sunday. The first game will be on the MLB Showcase on MLB Network. I’m sure they won’t talk about the ALDS at-all. Remember. REVENGE!!!
