The Cleveland Indians played in some actual games over the weekend, allowing fans to see some new faces and just enjoy some baseball.
What a weekend it was for Cleveland Indians fans.
The Indians may have only played in exhibition games, but it sure was nice to see the team back on a baseball diamond once again. No better way to move on from 2017 than to get back to it in 2018.
The Indians returned with a 6-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds in a game that saw Yonder Alonso hit a home run to the moon. The front office silently nodded while watching.
That was followed by a big 11-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday before ending the weekend in a 2-2 tie against the Reds. I’m sure there were more than a few people complaining about a tie. It’s only February, but baseball fever is back.
The team is back on television today at 3:05 EST against the Milwaukee Brewers and I couldn’t be more excited. Cleveland is actually seeing some nice weather, only making it feel more natural to have baseball on the screen.
There are still plenty of competitions all throughout the roster to keep an eye on, making the games a bit more stressful for the players involved. At least those fighting for a spot on the team.
Josh Tomlin is one of those players looking for a starting spot and will get the start today against the Brewers. Win or lose, it sure is nice to have some Indians baseball back.

Will the team regret not retaining Bruce or Santana?
Can Tyler Naquin make the Opening Day roster?
A sign of more to come
First pitch, first swing, first homer? Yeah, @YonderalonsoU will fit right in.

That sure looks like a home run swing to me. Let’s hope to see at least 30 of those during the regular season.

This signing shouldn’t scare Indians fans, but it does once again set up the Red Sox as some main competition in the American League. Along with the Houston Astros, the Indians should be in a tight race throughout 2018.
