Cleveland Indians fans can rest easy knowing the starting rotation is set for the 2018 season and will once again feature a reliable cast.

This Cleveland Indians offseason is quiet and that is quite alright.

But us writers need something to write about, and Jordan Bastian of Indians.com decided to fill the time by talking about the 2018 starting rotation.

Bastian doesn’t share any new, shocking information about the 2018 rotation, but his article does remind fans that while no big moves have been made this offseason, the Indians still have one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball.

No need to fix what isn’t broken.

There is still some uncertainty as to whether Danny Salazar or Mike Clevinger will claim that final spot, but that is a nice problem to have compared to others years when fans found themselves spending January talking themselves into David Huff‘s potential.

The fact the Indians have both Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco in the same rotation, and for cheap, is almost an unfair advantage. And if Trevor Bauer improves upon what was a great 2017 season, opposing teams better watch out in 2018.

Sometimes it is easy to get excited based solely on potential, but this rotation has proven results on the field. This is a nice reflection upon the front office and the plan set in place years ago to get to a point where changes didn’t need to be made to the group every season.

All of this is nice, but fans are hoping the final result is a better one in 2018.
