Cleveland Indians: Remembering the most fun players from the 90s

Cleveland Indians fans have some great memories from the late 1990s, which led to a poll to see which player from the era stands out.

Cleveland is beginning to thaw and that means Cleveland Indians fans can finally start envisioning some baseball in the city. Until the next snowstorm hits.

We shared an article on the site yesterday, with the link coming up later in our ICYMI section, talking about the top five home run hitters in team history.

Since it’s January, that meant it was time for a poll.

This was one of our closer polls, and unfortunately Jim Thome didn’t get as much love as I expected he would. The good news for him is that he is preparing to be elected into the Hall of Fame.

I personally voted for Manny Ramirez myself, although some of his most fun moments came after he left the team and “Manny being Manny” really took off.

Albert Belle was also an interesting choice as he provided some of the most memorable moments, but he also doesn’t leave fans with the greatest memories when it comes to his departure from Cleveland. Alas, what he did in an Indians uniform will never be forgotten.

All three players gave the team a new direction after decades of bad baseball, and for that all three hold special places in the hearts of Indians fans.
