Cleveland Indians fans are hoping Corey Kluber can lead the team to a comfortable victory over the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the 2017 ALDS.

Starting Trevor Bauer in Game 1 was a bold move by Terry Francona, and something that had Cleveland Indians fans nervous. How silly those concerns were.

Bauer had arguably the best start of his career and set up his team with a 1-0 series lead over the New York Yankees. The best part of that 1-0? Corey Kluber is starting Game 2.

Kluber takes the mound today as the Indians look to head to New York with a 2-0 series lead and Carlos Carrasco on the mound in Game 3.

Today’s lineups:

The only changes for the Indians are Yan Gomes getting the start behind the plate and Austin Jackson starting in left field, although he did relieve Lonnie Chisenhall in Game 1.

The notable aspect of the Yankees’ Game 2 squad is CC Sabathia starting, returning to the stadium where he took on his current team back in 2007. Fans are hoping the series has the same outcome as it did a decade ago.

The plan for the Indians is the same as it always is when Kluber is on the mound: score first, throw nasty two-seamers, hand the ball to the bullpen.

Postseason baseball remains unpredictable, but it could be possible that this Indians team is even better than previously thought. The way Bauer pitched should have fans confident that Kluber and Carrasco will only be better, which is also the hope of Francona.

But the offense is a main factor in the equation, as a dominant outing by Sabathia could shift the tone of this series heading back to New York. Yet it would be hard to find an Indians fan expecting such an outcome.
