Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor was one of the best players in the World Baseball Classic, and was recognized for his success.

The World Baseball Classic is finally over after Team USA took down an undefeated Puerto Rican team in Wednesday’s final.

This means star players like Andrew Miller and Francisco Lindor are finally headed back to Cleveland Indians camp, with the best news being they made it through the tournament healthy.

But those who watched the WBC witnessed how much the players cared about winning. That was true for the Puerto Rican team that brought excitement to their home nation in the name of winning and hair dye.

Francisco Lindor was a key part of the team’s success throughout the tournament, and was honored for his play by being named to the All-WBC team.

This is no surprise for Indians fans who were dazzled by Lindor in 2016, and who expect even greater things out of the young shortstop in 2017.

Him playing in the WBC will only continue to build his personal brand, which is one that may see him be one of the faces of the league in the near future. Another postseason run with the Indians will surely help that process.

Indians fans want Lindor to help the team here, but his presence with the Puerto Rican team in the WBC not only helps grow the game in Puerto Rico, but all around the world. Young stars like him who openly enjoy the game help spark interest in baseball, which is great news for those who want to see the game continue to grow.
