Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller had a rough start to the World Baseball Classic, but he looked better in his second outing.

Baseball fans who have been watching the World Baseball Classic know how exciting the action has been. That continued Wednesday night when Team USA made an exciting comeback en route to a 4-2 victory over Venezuela.

Cleveland Indians fans watching the game got to see a glimpse of Andrew Miller, who made his first appearance since Saturday, when he allowed two home runs against a strong Dominican Republic squad.

He made up for it Wednesday night, coming in with a runner on first and retiring Carlos Gonzalez to get Team USA to the bottom of the seventh down 2-0. It was only one batter, but it was nice to see Miller get his confidence back with a clean outing.

Indians fans who may have been worried about his performance on Saturday should realize it is far too early in the season to be concerned. While the WBC is a competitive tournament, the hitters have an advantage over the pitchers who are still working to get back into their routines.

One outing doesn’t define a player’s season, and there is no reason to expect any letdown in production from Miller in 2017. It will be a different experience for fans now that Miller is playing a full season with the Indians, but he should still be one of the better relievers in baseball, and the ace of the bullpen.
